Philosophy
Well, It's been a few months since I wrote anything in here. And there's a good reason for that. Reason number one: I met a girl and have been seeing her since the beginning of July. So any free time I used to have is now no longer free time. So between her and WoW I barely have enough time to do laundry. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying.
Other than that, not a whole lot has happened. Looking forward though, is a different story. I got a job in Atlanta and I start on the 10th of October. I'm going to miss Palm. It's been a great 6 months. I hope that in the future I will be able to come back to Palm if the settings are right. So, yeah, I'm moving to Atlanta in less than a month. I've already told almost anyone that should know (there's a few still out there though). That was tough. I'm going to miss everyone, but not too much. After all, what's the internet for?
Leah was pretty upset. I'm not really sure what to feel. I'll probably do just what I always do and just keep moving forward with only a little bit of time to look back on the good times and smile.
Here's my philosophy:
- Don't do anything you'll be ashamed of.
- If you break rule number one, don't tell anyone. However, if someone asks you about it, don't try to hide it. They already know.
- You can't change the past, so don't try. I beleive the addage goes, "There's no use crying over spilled milk."
- Never have any regrets. It took me a long time to learn this, but it's sort of a corollary of rule number three. A good quote to remember here is, "I do not regret the things that I have done, but those I did not do."
- You can learn something from every situation. Do so. This does not have to be huge. This can be as small as, "so and so likes popcorn." Keep in mind, though, that it could be as huge as, "Our universe is not infinite." Always be ready to learn.
- Combining four and five gives a very old lesson. Learn from your mistakes. Mistakes that do not kill us make us stronger. We make mistakes all the time. It's human nature. Don't dwell on it no matter how huge. It's okay to be sorry for an appropriate period of time. Just make sure you get over it.
- Someone much wiser than I said, "Laughter is the best medicine." Damn skippy.
- Smile, there is always someone in a much worse position than you. They have the right to frown, you don't.
- Let that which really doesn't matter, slide. Before getting all riled up about anything ask yourself this, "Does this matter?"
- Think ahead in your actions. Always keep in mind that everything you do causes a reaction. Think about the reactions before making the action. This will help with rule number one.
So, you now know my philosophy. Maybe someday I'll write a book on it. Maybe I won't. It's good to have dreams, but don't let them interfere with life. With that said, I'm going to go clean up my place. I'll see you all when I see you. Until then, take care.
